At the Hollyford Mines, Co. Tipperary, three veins were worked for copper at three locations, intermittently from 1816 until 1839. The main period of working was 1845 until 1858, producing a total of 3917 tons of ore. The engine shaft eventually reached a depth of 110 fathoms (201 m). These are the remains of the second chimney at the main site, in woodland about 60 metres southeast of the most obvious chimney.
